PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
BRUNO ENDS THIS BEFORE LUNCH
Fernandes scores 49.5 as Declan Rice FC dismantle Slimey FC and move to 2-0.
B.Fernandes leaves with the match ball. The 49.5 fantasy points came with it.BBC Sport
Declan Rice FC beat Slimey FC 135.5–70.25, with B.Fernandes supplying an extraordinary 49.5 points. That single contribution accounted for more than a third of the winning total and came within 20.75 points of Slimey FC’s entire starting lineup.
There was still competent support around him: Calvert-Lewin scored 14.5, Evanilson added 12 and Thiaw returned 9.75. Slimey FC had one major answer in Mbeumo’s 25.5, but Donnarumma’s minus-four and four other starters scoring five or fewer made sustained resistance unlikely.
The result leaves Declan Rice FC at 2-0 with 200 points scored and only 131 conceded. Slimey FC fall to 0-2 after conceding 268.25 across the opening fortnight. BBC Sport’s assessment that Fernandes still sets Manchester United’s standard was unusually literal for fantasy purposes: this week he set most of Declan Rice FC’s standard by himself.
The Market
▲ Stock Up
B.Fernandes. A 49.5-point performance decided the Slimey FC matchup and pushed Declan Rice FC to 2-0.
7-1 FC. Back-to-back totals of 146.5 and 141.75 have produced a league-best 288.25 points and a 2-0 record.
Ajayi. Claimed by Hound Boys FC 🐶 before the gameweek, Ajayi entered the lineup and returned 10.25 in a 78.5-point victory.
Saca Cojones. Nine double-digit starters powered 140.25 points, the kind of balance that makes even Haaland feel like part of a committee.
▼ Stock Down
Barcola’s Brigade. The Brigade scored 57, lost by 78.5 and now sit 0-2 with a league-low 125 points for.
Crème’s reserve allocation. Crème Internazionale C.F. left 22.5 points in reserve while losing by 48.25. The margin did not require the assistance, but received it anyway.
Donnarumma. A minus-four return aggravated Slimey FC’s lowest score of the week. Goalkeeping can be a source of points, theoretically.
The Transaction Wire
Ajayi · CLAIM · Hound Boys FC 🐶 — Hound Boys FC 🐶 claimed Ajayi on 25 August and started him for 10.25 points in the week’s largest win. Immediate, useful and unusually tidy.
Elanga · CLAIM · Saca Cojones — Saca Cojones claimed Elanga on 26 August and received 15 points in a 140.25-point victory. This is generally how the waiver brochure describes it.
Kostoulas · CLAIM · WhiteCastle United — WhiteCastle United added Kostoulas on 28 August; his 12 points spent the week on the bench. The acquisition worked, pending deployment.
Shaw · CLAIM · Crème Internazionale C.F. — Crème Internazionale C.F. claimed Shaw and received 4.5 points. Serviceable, although not enough to alter a 48.25-point defeat.
McAtee · CLAIM · Snake — Snake claimed McAtee on 25 August and started him for 4.5 points. Modest production inside a lineup that had ample support elsewhere.

THE PERFECT START CONTINUES
SNAKE BUILDS FROM THE BACK
Two 16.5-point defenders underpin a comfortable victory over Crème Internazionale C.F.
Ndiaye featured in Snake’s balanced 119.25-point victory.· BBC Sport
Snake’s 119.25 was not built around one freak score. Gibbs-White led with 21, while White and Mukiele each supplied 16.5 from defence and Semenyo added 15.5. Eight starters returned at least seven points, giving the winner a floor Crème Internazionale C.F. never approached.
Crème did receive 16.5 from Munoz, 13 from Marmoush and 10.5 from Wirtz. The trouble was elsewhere: Tzolis scored minus-0.5, Bijol 1 and Ødegaard 2. Snake are now 2-0 with 223 points for and 139 against, which is a persuasive opening fortnight without requiring any administrative drama.
DEPTH CHARGE
SACA SCORES BY COMMITTEE
Haaland leads a lineup in which almost everybody contributes.
Saca Cojones’ 140.25 was the week’s most complete starting-lineup performance. Haaland scored 23.5, Foden added 21.5 and Tielemans returned 16.5, but the decisive feature was repetition: nine starters reached double figures and Ballard produced another 14.75 from defence.
The Lion King were not poor. João Pedro’s 24.5 led a respectable 104.75, Hill scored 14.75 and Gakpo added 12. The problem was that four starters returned six or fewer while Saca kept finding points across every line. It was less a knockout punch than an orderly queue of them.
MARGIN OF THE WEEK
BRIGADE REDUCED TO CHERKI AND HOPE
Hound Boys FC 🐶 win by 78.5 despite Cherki’s 29.5-point stand.
Bradley Barcola had a prominent week in the news and a zero-point role in the Brigade’s defeat.· BBC Sport
Hound Boys FC 🐶 spread the scoring across the lineup. Hall delivered 20.5, Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha scored 19.5 apiece, Tzolakis added 17 in goal and both Isak and Dewsbury-Hall reached 13. Even a zero from Willock was absorbed without visible structural damage.
Barcola’s Brigade depended almost entirely on Cherki’s 29.5. The other ten starters combined for 27.5, with A.Becker scoring minus-3.5 and three outfield players returning zero. Bradley Barcola was among them. The team bearing his name may wish to treat the new Liverpool chapter as a personal request for points.
LEADERS SET THE PACE
7-1 REFUSES TO SLOW DOWN
Another 140-plus score takes the unbeaten side to 288.25 points through two weeks.
7-1 FC followed last week’s 146.5 with 141.75 against WhiteCastle United. Groß scored 24 and Tarkowski 22.25, while Palmer, Schade, Gomez and Xhaka all contributed at least 13. The side did not require any one player to carry the total, which is generally considered a useful arrangement.
WhiteCastle reached three figures through Calafiori’s 18.75, Saka’s 18 and Gvardiol’s 14.25. Maguire added 10.25, but three attacking starters combined for 17 points. A score of 100.25 was respectable; meeting the league’s leading scorer immediately afterward was less accommodating.
The Notebook
7-1 FC lead the league with 288.25 points for, 55.25 more than the next-highest total. Subtlety has not yet been required.
Declan Rice FC have allowed only 131 points, the league’s lowest points-against total, while opening 2-0.
WhiteCastle United led the official bench-waste table with 26.75 points in reserve, including 12 from Kostoulas that never left the bench.
Snake left zero points in reserve, the cleanest bench figure of the week. Every available contribution stayed politely irrelevant.
WhiteCastle United are 1-1 despite scoring 233 points, the second-highest season total. Their opponents have combined for 245.
Slimey FC and The Lion King are both 0-2, but Slimey have conceded 268.25 compared with The Lion King’s 224.25. Misfortune has levels.
Gameweek 3 sends unbeaten Declan Rice FC against unbeaten 7-1 FC. At least one perfect record will be inconvenienced unless the league discovers a tie.

On This Matchweek
2018-19.On this matchweek in 2018-19, 7-1 FC beat Crème Internazionale C.F. 189.75–147.25. Both totals remain excessive; only one was useful.
2022-23.On this matchweek in 2022-23, Snake defeated Crème Internazionale C.F. 159.5–77.5. This week’s 119.25–71 was the restrained anniversary edition.
2025-26.On this matchweek in 2025-26, Snake edged The Lion King 99.75–99.25. Half a point separated triumph from a week of staring at substitutions.
The Weekly Football Folly
“Crème kept 22.5 points in reserve; the 119.25–71 defeat was apparently already fully staffed.”

Obituaries
MUNOZ, RELEASED BEFORE RETURNING ELSEWHERE
Dropped by 7-1 FC on 26 August; survived by a 16.5-point start for Crème Internazionale C.F. No flowers, only the customary waiver regret.
WATKINS, DEPARTED
Released by Declan Rice FC on 26 August. Remembered for prior service and the speed with which roster space becomes a practical concern. No flowers.
YEREMY PINO, FREE TO A GOOD HOME
Dropped by Crème Internazionale C.F. on 22 August; presently survived by 16 free-agent points and several managers pretending not to notice.
SENESI, LATE OF THE HOUNDS
Released by Hound Boys FC 🐶 on 29 August. His former club immediately won by 78.5, an unfortunate scheduling detail for the memorial notice.
MATETA, WAIVED
Dropped by WhiteCastle United on 28 August. Survived by the forwards who remained and by the usual possibility of being claimed before anyone admits interest.
The Classifieds
Dedić — Dedić, defender, 24 points last week. One careful previous owner: nobody. Enquiries expected before waivers develop manners.
Yalcouyé — Yalcouyé, midfielder, 20 points. Available immediately. Ideal for managers who enjoy discovering production after lineups lock.
Ndoye — Ndoye, forward, 17 points. Unrostered, productive and therefore temporarily affordable. Terms subject to sudden collective interest.
Horníček — Horníček, goalkeeper, 16.5 points. Clean paperwork, strong recent return, accents included at no extra charge.
Yeremy Pino — Yeremy Pino, midfielder, 16 points. Recently released, lightly mourned, fully capable of making the former employer uncomfortable.
Ask the Gaffer
“Dear Gaffer, my star player scored nearly 30 points and I still lost by almost 80. Is the correct response patience, tactical surgery or quietly changing the team name?”
— Confused in the Cheap Seats
The Gaffer: Keep the name; it is valuable evidence. Cherki’s 29.5 was excellent, but Barcola’s Brigade received only 27.5 from the other ten starters, including three zeros and minus-3.5 from A.Becker. That is not a narrow selection dispute. It is a full departmental review with biscuits. Start by finding players who score numbers greater than zero, then revisit branding once the emergency services have left.
